Production in 2009

Safety, reliability, quality, client orientation and economy characterise Global Operations (“Production”) at Grünenthal. Our production locations in six countries were brought together in 2009 under uniform global management. In 2009 we elaborated a global production strategy supporting Grünenthal’s resolute focus on the core business of pain by concentrating on the strategically important components of the supply chain. We started implementing these plans at the end of 2009 and they will be completed by 2012. The transformed project organisation "Transfer & Strategy" ensures a systematic and accelerated product and technology transfer between R&D and production as well as between the individual Grünenthal locations and toll manufacturers. Our quality organisation continues to ensure uniform, extensive, complete and professional Compliance Management according to GMP standards (Good Manufacturing Practice) ranging from audits, suppliers’ qualifications, batch release, storage and dispatch to delivery to patients. Locations in Germany, Switzerland and Italy encompassing the complete supply chain from the production of the active substance, tablets and final packaging, form the backbone of the production network and have the necessary facilities to take on products from R&D. Global Supply Chain links Global Operations with Marketing & Sales ensuring reliable patient care and smooth development of our product launches.
